Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwu Rapheal, lecturer at Department of Theatre Arts, Delta State University, Abraka was caught and stripped unclad last weekend while attempting to rape one of his female students (name withheld).

The 400L student of the same University was said to have been enticed by the lecturer with upgraded scores in a bid to have her sleep with him. Reports reveal that the student’s refusal has led to her failure since 200L.

Mr Ifeanyi, a Ph.D student of Delta State University, Abraka, had on that faithful day (Friday) gone to see the girl at her hostel room with the course script (THA 203) wanting to upgrade the scores after she might have agreed to sleep with him, however, after entering the girls room and the door was jammed when suddenly the girls boy friend came knocking and heard her shouting Rape! Rape! Rape! ‘Please help’. However, angered by the loud voice, the boy friend and other neighbouring students forced the door open when they saw Mr. Ifeanyi unclad while trying to have a carnal knowledge of her.

According to some of the Theatre Arts students who pleaded anonymity, the lecturer had been indulging in the act for a while. They stated that for male students, he will force them to part with five thousand (5,000) naira each while female students will be forced to sleep with him before they could pass his course.

Reacting to the allegation, when contacted on phone by Delta Decides, Mr Ifeanyi said the school authority is handling the case; and that he does not have anything to say and dropped the call.
