Events Are About To Take A Huge Leap As Newton And David launches new office in VI
Mrs Uche Majekodunmi who is the CEO of Newton and David Floral, an event management and decorations company hosted members of the press to the grand opening of their latest branch which is located at Elpina plaza, Akin Adesola road, Victoria island, Lagos.
She kicked off the event by introducing key members of her team, “ shola,Ugochi , Andy and Gozie Coker. Mrs Uche then went ahead to give an idea of what the type of works Newton And David can render by going through a media visual presentation of an event Covered by Newton And David of a Knowledge exchange and gala dinner for an un-named law firm.
She went further to state that at Newton And David, clients opinion and choice is of utmost importance and as such they usually take a brief of what their client or clients want and that they try to offer that no matter the background of the client, where they are from and what they want.
Mrs Uche made it known that at Newton And David, they pay attention to every detail as regards what the client want and what it is they are doing. In this case of the law firm they had to create an elegant entrance with lovely designs and false walls, an art gallery, a breakfast knowledge exchange meeting venue and a cool and really nice gala dinner. She then reinstated that despite the limited resources in the country Newton And David try a lot to rise up to any occasion in order to create and decorate events to meet world class standards.
She made it quite clear from the presentation that clients are given a visual presentation of what they should expect before going ahead to create it.
Mrs Uche went on to say that due to her love for the country, she tries to add a little Nigerian feature to her works and also that most of the company’s props are unique and unusual (making references to the flowers she uses).
After her presentation, member of the press that was present were given the opportunity to ask questions and below are some of the questions asked and her response to each of them.
Press: why did you decide it was time to move to the Island?
Response: At some point the younger people (her team) said to me “Aunty Uche you have not started if you are not on the Island o”. So I thought of it and also considered that the world is changing and that it’s wise to listen to the new generation and sometimes let go of ego
Press: How long have you been in the business?
Response: Over twenty years now and as such I’ve had clients in the thousands
Press: What that thing that drives you to keep going all these while?
Response: I will have to say it’s the passion and then the strive for excellence
Press: Do you create time to train young ones considering that you want this business to outlive you?
Response: I always create room for people to learn and work, because I love to promote work, and then in Nigerian, in order to work effectively with people, you have to train them.
